Product Description
The 2002 White House ornament honors President Theodore Roosevelt. The ornament and package incorporate design elements from the 1902 Beaux Arts style restoration of the White House by the renowned architectural firm of McKim, Mead & White. The East Room's elegant and sparkling Bohemian glass chandeliers were the inspiration for the crystal centerpiece. The decorative frame includes a holiday ribbon, acanthus leaves from the East Room’s Luis XVI style panels, and a sturdy eagle inspired by the carved mahogany pedestals of the console tables in the State Dining Room.
"The White House under Mr. McKim's direction, was restored to the beauty, dignity, and simplicity of the original plan."-President Theodore Roosevelt
